| The
Northglenn Band program is comprised of three concert bands, two
jazz bands, a marching band, winter percussion, winter guard and
a pep band. The band is just one part of a comprehensive music program
at Northglenn High School which includes two orchestras and six
choirs.
The Northglenn Band program has a long history of excellence and success. The Wind Ensemble has received superior ratings (the highest possible) at every festival for the past 10 years. The Wind Ensemble was named the best concert ensemble at the Grand Junction West Festival in 2000 and one of the bands of distinction at the CBA Concert Band Festival in Longmont in 2003. The jazz bands have consistently received high ratings for the past 15 years. The Northglenn Marching Band is one of the elite marching bands in Colorado, having won eight state championships. The marching band has never placed lower than sixth in state competition. The color guard placed first at the 2002 State Marching Championships. The band program is supported by a fantastic parent booster organization. Without their support and dedication, the band could not maintain its current level of excellence. |
